The Daily Practice sets help students Sample Grade 4 • Level D Sample Grade 4 • Level D     gain and maintain fluency with basic facts   practice mental math   develop key grade level skills to support more advanced computational skills When should I use the Daily Practice sets? Use Daily Practice as a 5-minute focus activity after recess or before lunch. How do I use the Daily Practice sets? Daily Practice sets are designed for use on the overhead. Advance Preparation: Make a set of transparencies using the Daily Practice copymaster. Daily Routine: Each day, display one practice set. Have students work each problem independently, writing only the answers. When students have finished, lead them in choral math. Have students read each problem and answer aloud in unison. Assess informally how well your class is mastering the facts by their choral response. You can vary the choral math by dividing the class into 2 or more teams.
